Longyearbyen is the administrative centre of Svalbard and is located on Spitsbergen, the largest island of the Svalbard archipelago. It is one of the world's northernmost towns with approximately 2,075 inhabitants. Due to its location north of the Arctic Circle, it has an Arctic tundra climate and polar night from October to February and day from April to August. --Wikipedia
