GABORONE -- July 21, 2006 -- We left Livingston yesterday and we changed plans along the way. We flew Air Botswana to Gaborone and are now staying at the Grand Palms Hotel. Plum in the lap of luxury. We fly back home tomorrow eve. I have scheduled a tentative visit with the Peace Corps director tomorrow before we leave. Everyone is fine... Some of the girls are shopping and Riely is trying to catch lizards by the pool.

LIVINGSTON, ZAMBIA -- July 19, 2006 -- We are all well, healthy and rested while here at Jolley Boys backpacker retreat. We are in Livingston. 12K from Vic Falls. Soon we will have breakfast on an island at the base of the falls. We will boat there from the Royal Livingston Hotel. After that we are going to do a cliff jump, which was highlighted on the Great Race show. We will be here until thursday morning. We will be crossing the at the Kazungula Ferry at the four corners back into Botswana that thursday morning. We will visit Chobe National park during the day and be transported to Francistown. From there, we will take the night train to Gaborone and have a full day to tie up loose ends, visit the peace Corps office perhaps and then fly home. Again, ALL ARE WELL!!!!

MAUN -- July 10, 2006 -- We are back from safari. WE DO have stories to tell. Funny stuff and we have seen many different animals in Moremi. Back in Maun now and bussing to Etsha. We are staying at Kgaoganos compound tonight, visiting my school tomorrow morning. At 3:00PM Steve Harpt will pick us up and take us to Bana Ba Metsi. We are arranging with Kgaogano to go to Victoria Falls. The plans are still in the works. We will be at Bana a day early. We will return by rail to Gabs at the end of our trip. It will be the night train.

We are all in good health minus a few tummy aches and all of us feeling a little sick from time to time but not too bad all in all. --Bill Burns

MOREMI GAME RESERVE -- July 7, 2006 -- I received a call at the office this morning 7:36 AM and the team is enjoying the Moremi Game Reserve. It is cool at night and in the morning but around 82 F during the day. They have been seeing tons of wildlife including some lions. Hopefully they are shooting some video. Everyone is doing fantastic and excited. I hope to talk with the team on Monday and ask some more questions.

MOREMI GAME RESERVE -- July 5, 2006 -- The team is off to the Moremi Game Reserve today. They have been eating and well rested. Ashley called and left a message on the machine that it is 66 degrees F. and everyone is having a great time and the team is leaving for Maun today and will start the Safari Friday. I hope to speak to the team on Friday. I will try to get info from Sabra and give all your messages. I hope everyone had a great fourth of July!

GABON, SOUTH AFRICA -- June 30, 2006 -- The Team arrived safely in Gabon today. They are a bit tired (as would be expected) and checked into the Presidente Hotel where they'll stay for at least two days. The Presidente is a first class business hotel with internet access -- in contrast to their destinations. We will update everyone as soon as the team heads north to overnight in Maun and then onto the Moremi Game Reserve.

TRUCKEE, CA -- June 28, 2006 -- The Team Departed from Reno around 10 a.m. this morning for there 22 hour journey across the US and Atlantic Ocean to London and then down to Johannesburg, South Africa and onto Gabone. I will update you all as to details of the adventure. Please feel free to e-mail if you have any messages to team members.

The Botswana Braai Club led by Bill Burns and Windy Culver embarked on a three-week adventure of a lifetime to the Republic of Botswana, Africa.

This was the first of three annual trips. The team of well-trained Truckee High School students, flew to Gaborone, Botswana and experienced a week-long safari in the Moremi Game Reserve, where they encountered an abundance of African wildlife.

Next they traveled north into the Okavango Delta, where they rolled up their sleeves and helped to build the Bana ba Metsi School, while also taking in the wonders of this breathtaking country.

The Truckee High students worked alongside the students of Bana be Metsi (children of the water) to lay the foundation for the 2007 and 2008 Botswana Treks.
